Arthur, you still had so much to give !
I saw the potential in Arthur when appointing him to the position at SAS 30 years ago and was his mentor for many years. He engaged in many courses and educated himself to be the best support and leader for SAS and the participants. Arthur threw himself into challenges and took every opportunity to provide opportunities for others. He secured funding for growth as sustainability for the service.
Personally, the best mate !
His biggest joys were his wife Helen and his children Jimmy and Pamela. I always asked how they were, and he would glow when talking about them. He gave Angelo the skills to achieve to become a great self advocate and person.
I know how much his work family will miss him…..my condolences to Robert, Julie, Carolyn, Cynthia and everyone at SAS.
Arthur’s legacy will live on.
Miss you mate xxxxx
Berinda (Sorry I can not attend in person due to my own health issues)
Our hearts are breaking for you Helen and Jimmy and Pamela in this very difficult time.
We are sincerely and truly sorry for the lost of Arthur and will no doubt leave a gapping hole in everyone’s lives especially to you and the family.
We’ll never forget his infectious and outgoing personality and his enthusiasm will be surely missed by all.
God bless you always.
Love, Con and Myrrha.
Helen, Jimmy, Pamela, and Angelo – my heart aches deeply with yours. Arthur’s love for you was the foundation of everything he did. These days are impossibly hard, but I hope you find comfort in knowing how many lives he touched.
Arthur, I feel your presence still walking beside us, just as you always did. Your gift was seeing potential in people before they saw it themselves – this was true leadership. At Self Advocacy Sydney Inc., you didn’t just transform lives – you built a family that continues to grow through your vision. Your OAM recognized your remarkable work, but your real legacy lives in every voice you helped strengthen and every heart you touched. I’m forever grateful for the wisdom you shared – dare I say, as both colleague and friend.
Till we meet again, dear Arthur, your light keeps shining bright.
My heartfelt sympathy to Artthur’s dear family in the loss of a true soul mate. Arthur was a giant in the intellectual disability field. During his two periods of helping members to take important leadership roles he deeply recognised the latent potential of all members. He helped the Board craft funding applications many of which were successful leading to a significant expansion of support activities. Arthur was also a writer of novels. I was in awe that he found time for this given his wholehearted commitment to SAS Inc.
I was privileged to have long conversations with Arthur re funding strategies. He was a true and loyal friend to so many. SAS Inc will miss his steady pair of hands which saw it go from strength to strength in his periods of stewardship.
Vale dear friend. We shall miss you.
