Dear Jim, Nick, Desi, Frank, Pamela and the whole team at Divine Family Funerals, a truly heartfelt thank you from me and my entire family.
When you lose a loved one, you are also lost and not sure what to do. My first words to Jim were: 'I need your help. Can you help me?' And what followed was by far the best service we have ever experienced (not that we've organised many funerals, but in general, the service was impeccable in every sense).
My father passed away following a long illness. They took care of him and us in a way we never expected.
The initial phone call was not intimidating. Simply a few details were required, and it was a Saturday afternoon, followed by a meeting on Monday afternoon. They offered to come to our home, but we went to them. Their location on William Street is a welcoming and calm space. There, Jim helped us with every single step from choosing a casket, flowers, filling out the form for NSW registry (which helped us not having to do that alone) and answered every single question we threw at him with ease. The price was stated up front and we felt it was incredibly reasonable, including all the elements of their service.
In the following days (we had the funeral on the Thursday), they organised the cemetery, church, pamphlets, announcements and the wake, once we told them our preferred locations, and all we had to do was confirm the final decisions that we wanted. We had time to be with family at home without added stress of organising the funeral.
On the day, the attention to detail and the care and respect shown to my father and to us was beyond anything we expected. Jim walked respectfully in front of the hearse up to our home and then, leading up to the church, allowing time for that final journey, never making us feel rushed. A white rose was left at our front door, and Nick left rose petals along the trail outside. It was a beautiful touch. The love and respect that went into preparing my father for his final viewing was evident, and the list goes on and on.
I didn't organise music, because I didn't have the brain capacity at the time and they asked if I'd be happy for them to play something at certain times in the service and at the burial. The choices were perfect and probably what I would've chosen myself.
They watched out for my two young children, and nothing was ever too much.
I could go on and on and on singing their praises. Our family and friends all commented on the lovely service and the incredible professionalism and special touches provided by all the Divine Family Funeral staff.
Honestly, I would recommend this family business beyond any doubt to any family looking for a respectful, caring and well organised final farewell that will truly honour their loved one.

The extended family and I would like to say a big thank you to Jim, Desi and the Devine Family funeral team for all their help and the excellent service they provided.

This was the first time we had to organise a burial for a close member of our family, and amongst our grief, we had no idea what we were doing.  Jim walked us through the whole process, answered all our questions and reassured us that everything will go well and smoothly.

For the attention to detail when organising the funeral logistics, the beautiful flowers, casket, Church service & Priest, Memorial cards and the care they took when preparing my mother to make her look beautiful, I cannot thank them enough.  The respect and care they also showed on the day of the funeral to our mother, the family & our guests, and the beautifully thought-out process from start to finish really impressed my father, who has not stopped talking about Divine Family Funerals and how pleased and impressed he was with the whole day.
